A Happy Wednesday!

Putting shoes on can be such a challenge!

Amera and Joelle feeling the joy of a jog well done!

Manny has us laughing as he does leg lifts with Joelle!
It's amazing how much he imitates what we do!

Javier and I
We had a great afternoon, just the two of us.  Chinese food for lunch and then we went to hear a message preached at a conference.  It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed every minute!  Lately Javier has had to spend much of his time studying, so this was a welcome break from that.

Here are some sweet smiles after picking up Daddy from work.  We're off to church!

See Clara in the backseat?  She was totally zonked out!

Beautiful music

I love to listen to him play.  It relaxes and soothes me.  It brings a beautiful calmness to our home.  We enjoy singing together.  He began to play one of the few songs he knows and of course we enjoy it every time we can get it.  It wasn't long before Amera joined us in the living room to join in the singing.  I treasure moments like these.  I remembered a hymnbook for guitar I had purchased about a month ago at the same time I purchased Amera's pennywhistle.  "Do you remember the book I bought for you?"  We had both forgotten all about it.  I excitedly pulled it out of our little basket of books so that he could learn some new songs.

This is one of my favorite sights in the world.

Little Manny is interested in what Daddy is doing

Jav graduates from Seminary in May.  I'm sure hoping that this summer will afford many more opportunities to learn beautiful music.  I would so enjoy it!

Out for a hike

This is classic Manny these days.  He loves nothing more than to go outside and get his favorite stick (an old broomstick) and walk around the yard with it.  He marches his cute little self around the yard lookin' like he's out to discover uncharted territory.  I love how determined he looks!

Now there's a happy little hiker!  I can't wait to take him to the mountains!

Happy trails kiddo!

Enjoy these cute little videos of our little "hiker"

Future bloggers?

Brienne likes to type on Microsoft Word.  It's her "blog".  A fun way to share and decorate the page with color.  It's also a great way for her to type her thoughts.

"groing in grace", I love it!  I love the way she spelled it!
I love her words, I pray they would be true in her life...not just words.

You're not supposed to have an official blog until you're thirteen.  Joelle is nine.  But she is enjoying using my "test blog" to learn all about the design process that Amera and I have been so excited about.  It's also a great way for her to do a little post from time to time, just a private thing ofcourse, she'll have to wait until she's thirteen to go public!  That gives ample time to mature and grow don't you think?

The computer is such a great resource and tool that we can use to honor and glorify the Lord.
It's been exciting to learn all about it!

Tarantella

Amera has a recital coming up in May.  This is the piece that her teacher recommended for her and we all decided that we love it too so she chose to do it!  It's a fun song and I love the liveliness it brings to our home as she practices!  She is in the beginning stages of learning it well.  I'd love to post the whole thing but I have never been able to upload videos that are longer than 20 seconds.  Does anyone have any tips?  I'd especially love to post a video of her at the recital in May!

We recently got our piano tuned for the first time since we bought it in 2001!  When the tuner saw that we had a Baldwin, he wasn't surprised that it really was not very out of tune at all!  He also said that he owns one and he only tunes it every 5-6 years.  He said Baldwins are actually very good about staying in tune.
Thank you Lord for giving us this gift!

My little guys

Just sitting on the big blue chair with my son for a while was so sweet.  So many things to do today.  I felt bombarded by it all.  It was wonderful to just sit still for a bit and laugh and talk with my little guy.  I sense him growing lately, changing, in good ways.  He wants to be with me more, spend more time with me...
(note to self: spend more time with your precious son Marisha)

I enjoyed this little man today.  God gave him the softest, sweetest skin.  Sweet little "manly" hands.  I marvel at them.  Even though lately those little hands are getting in to soooo many things I can hardly keep up with him!  Sometimes I just love to watch those precious little hands turning the pages of a book.

I can't get enough of those chubby little feet in sandals!  The sound of his little sandals stomping on the kitchen floor coupled with the sight of those cute feet just made me laugh out loud today.

Time to jog!

Around 9:30 a.m. Joelle helps Manny get ready to go outside.  It's time for the kids to jog!

Manny is very interested in his facial expressions in the mirror, it must be so fascinating to a one year old!

It was chilly and wet this morning, but they all did a great job!  I did have to motivate the younger ones a couple times.  It never ceases to amaze me that they will stop jogging before they're finished!  They're usually the ones with the most energy!

Poor Clara, she fell over flat on the wet grass as soon as she went out into the yard.  She wanted nothing to do with running around.  I don't require it of her just yet.

Later, I found Manny sitting on this chair with a book, upside down of course!  I've taught him to handle the pages carefully.  But I still remember the days when they were off limits for him.  He nearly gave me a heart attack once or twice with a crumpled or torn page, thankfully those were books that belonged to us!

Manny loves to look at books!  This is one of my favorite things to watch him do.
I'll leave you with a couple of pictures I snapped when my husband came home.  I was in the kitchen getting the remaining plates of pasta prepared for our "dinner for lunch" which we always do on Wednesdays.  When Amera jokingly exclaims (with laughter in her voice) "Uh, mom, who is this guy that just walked in the door."  I peeked around the corner  expecting to see something humorous and this is what I found.

Even funnier are the facial expressions on the children.  Priceless.

Tender moments

Joelle wants to be with me while I fold laundry in my room.  She uses my bed as a desk, not the best thing to do for a handwriting lesson but I couldn't refuse her company!  She finished her handwriting book.  So I thought what better thing to use for practicing cursive than the words of the Bible.

Brienne decides to join us and she had to decide on a book for her book report.  This one didn't get chosen in the end but it made for a funny photo op as Brienne attempted to look like the rabbit on the cover.  She's always making funny faces, one of the things we love about her.

One of the blessings of learning to read is being able to read to your baby brother.  Manny loves it!

"Daddy's home!"  Javier is home from his morning class at seminary.

Manny loves it when Daddy comes home!
